FINALLY, someone else to talk about in chat!!

Hey, gang. Thanks so much for all the good wishes.

Yes, we decided to do it. It was actually supposed to happen (if things had all worked out the way we wanted) Friday night. Unfortunately the county recorder decided that one week of after-hours weddings was all that was really needed so they canceled the second week AFTER they told P.D. on Monday that this week was completely open for any evening. Oh, well....

We went and stood in line on Wednesday and got the license. Then we went out for margaritas!

As some of you know we've been together 22 years. We've had some GREAT times, we've had some rough times, but the GREAT times definitely overshadow the rough ones. We finally got our Domestic Partnership registered with the state a few years back. Yeah, we procrastinate A LOT!!!!

When the ruling came down from the CA Supreme Court it was immediately announced that there would be a ballot initiative in November for a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriages and I actually started thinking about it. Why NOT be a rebel, huh?

Now, we also decided that there is absolutely no need to register anywhere cuz the only thing we'd really like is a REAL BIG HOUSE!!!! We've got all the stuff we need and as cliche as it might sound, our friends are all we really need. The sad part is that we both have to be back at work on Thursday morning. I get to do payroll so I'm thinking about giving everyone a bonus just for putting up with me! I probably should ask the boss about that first though, right?

Now, PLEASE don't get crazed about seeing photos. My intentions are ALWAYS to make sure that the pics get taken but then things happen and I FORGET!!!! Didn't y'all just love all the pics of the last litter of puppies???? We'll be in blue blazers and khakis (no tuxes or kilts this time) doing our best to look spiffy but not over-the-top spiffy.

We're going to go to our favorite Disney restaurant for dinner after the ceremony as it's just down the road a bit from the county office where the ceremony will be performed. It's just going to be 3 of us; Dude, Partner Dude, and a very close friend who said she would most definitely be there to be our witness. We're also looking at having another very small gathering of friends in August where we'll be able to include P.D.'s sister and her husband (who are some of the most funnest theatre people ever) from San Diego and some of our dog friends.

Thanks so much for all the good thoughts. It is truly appreciated by us both (yup, P.D. reads here, too!).
